Australia's Biggest Morning Tea
YAY! One of my absolute FAVOURITE charity events is coming up, Australia’s biggest morning tea. Why? Well besides the obvious fact you get to hold a morning tea with all of your loved ones, work mates, friends or play groups and have a cuppa and some delicious morning tea snacks - you are also supporting those effected by cancer.
Here are some hugely scary statistics, 1 in 2 Australian men, and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. Does that not make you stop and think- for a room of 5 people (2 men, and 3 women) 2 people will develop cancel over their lifetime?
I think it is pretty safe to say that majority of us have had someone close to us or know someone with or has had cancer previously.
How can you get involved and support such an amazing charity? Whilst the official date for the morning tea is on Thursday the 28th May this year, you can still hold your morning tea at anytime in May or June and raise money for such an amazing cause!
All you need to do is get in touch with the cancer council and they will send you a full morning tea pack- It is great to do at work, and ask everyone to bring along a plate to share, or perhaps you can bake up a storm and sell your goodies for charity?
This year I am going to make a selection of my amazeballs, chia seed puddings, brownies and cookies from my recipe books - perfect for a morning tea!
Whilst I would love to have you all in my teeny kitchen for a delicious morning tea, I thought I might be able to show my support on a bigger, worldwide scale!
What better way to show my support than to offer $5 from the sale of each recipe book sold from the 8am on Saturday 23rd of May, limited number of copies available, but that’s not it- to ensure it is affordable for you also I am offering a HUGE 20% off my recipe books!
So not only would my hard copy ‘Eat clean, live lean’ recipe book, be discounted down to $39.95 - but additionally $5 from EVERY sale, will go directly into my donations for Australia’s biggest morning tea to support the cancer council.
Within my ‘Eat clean, Live Lean’ recipe book you will see over 180 recipes, divided into chapters- everything from salads, main meals, vegetarian options, sauces, dressings, dips and jams, to desserts, high protein treats and drinks. There really is a recipe for everyone wanting a sugar free, delicious recipe for any occasion.
Are you thinking of hosting your morning tea at your children’s play group, kindy or school and need some inspiration? I will also be offering a huge 20% off ‘My Kids Eat’ recipe books also- that’s a discount down to $35.95! Along with the sale, I will also donate $5.00 directly to the cancer council in my morning tea!
Do you want a little more inspiration? Here are a few suggestions for recipe ideas that I know my loved ones would love, and I know would be a huge hit at morning tea at school!
- Chia seed puddings, serve these in disposable cups, and top with fresh strawberries!
- Amazeballs or Energyballs- These are great as a fundraiser as you go sell them for 50c each, remember every cent counts and it all adds up!
- Banana bread, serve warm! Delicious!
- Mini Quiches, delicious and nutritious
All of these are available in my ‘Eat Clean, Live Lean’ book, are delicious, contain no sugar and are relatively easy to make.
So what’s stopping you? Support an amazing cause and join in on Australia’s biggest morning tea by grabbing together your loved ones and sharing a cuppa - I know I will be!
