Smoothie power!

After having really bad morning sickness, smoothies have been a life saver. I have been delighted about the fact my two son's have a smoothie for breakfast every morning. Why? I can pack full all the nutrients I want into a 250ml drink thats gone in minutes- perfect for the school run!

The best kind of smoothie is made of natural & organic ingredients, beware of artificial flavourings or milkshake type powders as honestly, a smoothie with fresh ingredients won't need anything else added!

Below are a few of my favourite smoothies!!

Banana Smoothie
Blend…
1 frozen banana
½ teaspoon organic cinnamon
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 cup of oat milk

My Banana Smoothie is one of my favourites.
It is so simple but yummy…and good for you!!
Peanut butter has 3mg of the powerful antioxidant, vitamin E and can reduce your risk of heart disease.
Oat milk contains 10 minerals and 15 vitimans so what better reason to swap to oat milk.


Refreshing Berry Smoothie
Blend…
1 cup of blueberries
1 tablespoon fresh mint leaves
1 cup greek yoghurt
1 tablespoon honey
1 banana
1 cup oat milk

Blueberries are ball's of wholesomeness. Boosting brain power, preventing cancer and softening skin is only some of what these little guys can do!!
Greek yoghurt has twice as much protein as regular yoghurt and is choc full of millions of pro-biotics which helps improve digestive function and the immune system.
Dairy free? Try using co-yo (coconut ice cream!)

Winter Warmer
Blend…
1 cup of rolled oats – precooked (soak in 1 cup of boiling water with the chia sees just before using) This is great as they expand and keep you feeling fuller for longer!
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ scoop vanilla protein powder
1 cup oat milk
2 tablespoons almond butter

There is nothing better than a warm smoothie on a cold morning to get you set up for the day ahead.
1 cup of oats provides 6g of protein and 4 g of fibre. The Fibre in oats will also make you feel fuller for longer that means less chance of snacking on fatty foods.

As you can see eating healthy doesn’t have to be time consuming and boring. The beauty of a smoothie is that you can put almost anything in. Be adventurous and try creating some of your own recipes.
