My go-to, simple fruit salad recipe. Perfect for warm spring days and balmy summer nights.

Method

The first thing I consider when buying ingredients for a fruit salad is what's in season.
What's in season, is what's reasonably priced, fresh and will taste AMAZING.

Second, I think about location. If you have access to a local farmer's market - get your fresh fruit (and veg) there!

Third, I make sure I have some citrus on hand. The juice and zest from lemons and limes enhance the flavours of other fruits as well as prevent browning (double win)!

Lastly, I think about timing. 
If I'm preparing the fruit salad on the day, I will choose ripened fruit rather than underripe.
If you're saving the fruit for a later day, go for firmer fruits to allow them to ripen.

You can switch up the ingredients as much or as little as you like.

 

  1. Toss all the ingredients together gently in a large serving bowl, leaving out the passionfruit and orange juice.
  2. Combine the orange juice and the seeds and pulp of the passionfruit and drizzle over your fruit salad.

    TIP: If you're not a fan of passionfruit, why not blitz raspberries and chia seeds for a nutritious, berry-infused dressing?
