This book has been such a labour of love. Nourishing my family is my top priority, and time spent in the kitchen is an investment in their health.
When my time spent cooking results in the most gorgeous book full of mouth-watering recipes, it’s also an investment in YUM.
I first wrote My Kids Eat when Kai and Ryder were little, and Evie and Aria (and Nathan!) were not even on my radar.
I’d been inspired to create a cookbook that children would want to flick through the pages, choose their favourite recipes, and recreate with their parents.
I wanted to prove that sugar-free, additive-free, preservative-free food was budget-friendly, easy to make and most of all, that kids would love it.
There were two huge motivations sitting right in front of me at the kitchen bench – Ryder’s eczema meant that I was searching for foods that would heal rather than inflame, and the need to create lunchbox-friendly meals that would satisfy Kai’s tastebuds and meet school guidelines had me creating and refining recipes for weeks on end.
I finally turned my folder of recipes into My Kids Eat and … WOW. Your response could not have been greater.
That book is still my best seller and one of my proudest achievements – photographed by my mum, styled and modelled by my boys, written, published and financed by me . . . and loved by you.
So when I had the opportunity to return to My Kids Eat and make it relevant for older kids, add new favourites from Evie and Aria and incorporate some of the recipes that Kai and
